Well, the summer is almost over and things are winding down in these last few days in Miami. I had so much fun last weekend at Daytona Beach. I got to go hang out on the beach with some of my friends and swim in the ocean. The beach was beautiful and it felt so good out there with the wind blowing and the sun shining. We were there for a YFC event. It was the southern area conference (SAC). Then we came back and did our last week of Summer Daze club.

Then we had our Lock-In for the elementary kids on Thursday night through Friday morning. Friday morning the middle school kids all met up with us at the pit as the elementary kids were getting up and we took all of the kids to a really neat park that has a lake with a beach and a couple of water slides. We hung out there for a while and then ate lunch and took the kids home.

Tonight we had a camp reunion where we invited all of the kids from camp to come and we played the camp video and did some worship and played a game and I gave a quick 10 minute talk challenging the kids to take what they learned at camp and apply it to their lives. We had a lot of fun.

Tomorrow we are going to church in the morning and then in the evening we have arranged a cookout for all of the host families to thank them for everything that they have done for us this summer. Then on Monday we are going to get together for the last time with all of our Summer Daze kids. We are just going to hang out and eat hamburgers and hot dogs. Then Tuesday I have arranged to meet with my discipleship group one last time and I am going to try to maybe go to the Miami YFC office and meet with the new executive director one more time before I leave.

Wednesday is officially my last day as an intern with YFC. The main thing that I am doing that day is packing and also I will be attending an Intern Goodbye Party that we have all been invited to at the pit. Most of our kids will probably be there. I am really going to miss them and miss all of the people that I have worked with over the summer.

I don't feel like this is the end at all. It is only the end of the beginning of a lifetime of ministry. And what a great beginning it was. Thanks to all who have prayed for me this summer and supported me financially. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to change the lives of the kids I have come in contact with and for giving me the opportunity to learn a lot about myself and the ministry that God is planning for me.

I will try to update this site a couple of more times in the next week or so and then I will possibly add a bunch of pictures too.
