Things are getting better all the time

Today is the day that I have my first youth gathering for Light of The World UMC. We are meeting at the pastors house to have hamburgers and hot dogs and just to hang out. I am going to do a worship service and we are going to play some games and build a fire and make smores. As long as it doesn't rain it should go great. The awesome thing is that I have a bunch of adult volunteers coming to help out too. I've got about 10 youth coming that I know of and hopefully some others too. If I have to go to the store for extra food then it will definitely be a success.

I also finally got a job offer and it is the one job that I applied for that has the highest pay. I accepted the position with the Fort Worth Police Department as a dispatcher in the communications department. I will be making enough money to move out of my parents house and into an apartment hopefully in the Hudson Oaks/Willow Park area. I don't start the job until the end of next month so I will have to hold out a little bit longer with what I have but at least I have the job for sure. I will probably try to move out at the end of the year.

Well, thats it for now. I've got to type out my music list for tonight and get the games out of my head and onto paper so that the adults know whats going on.

Wow, what an awesome experience it was to be in that little room playing and singing praise and worship songs. Saturday we had our second worship celebration service for Light of the World UMC. It was so awesome to sing and play for God and to see God moving in the formation of this church. Whats even more awesome is that some of my youth came this time!! And not only did they come but they also came early and volunteered to help with the food setup and service and several other tasks. I love it when the youth get involved and I am so excited for the youth program that we are kicking off on the 30th with a cookout!! I am going to make sure and take pictures so that I can post them on the new youth site and on my blog.

And as if God hasn't already blessed me enough with all that, I also got a call back on a job that I interviewed for and I am going to be going in for a polygraph and drug testing tomorrow for it. That means I pretty much have the job. The only thing is that it doesn't start until Nov. 29th. But hey it's a job in the pocket as my Dad would say and it is pretty good pay too. I also had a call back and went in to interview for another job that I would much rather have because it is in the computer field and it's better hours. I feel like the interview went really well and I am waiting to get feedback from my recruiter on that one. They are wanting to fill the position within the next couple of weeks so I should know on that one pretty soon.

GOD IS GOOD!!!

I haven't been updating regularly but I thought I would try to catch you up on whats going on with me lately (for the 3 of you who actually read this anyway)........

I am without a job......again.....but am actively looking for a job and hopefully will find one soon and hopefully in the area so I don't have to spend so much money and time getting there. In the meantime though I still have a lot going on. I am playing guitar in a lot of worship services. I play in the adult praise band and the youth praise band as well as playing for various events that I am invited to.

I also am involved in the formation of a new church called Light of the World United Methodist in the Hudson Oaks/ Willow Park area. I am on the formation team and leadership team for this church. I think it is great to have the opportunity to be a part of the forming of this church and there is no better training than actual experience.

I am also in charge of the youth programs for the new church. I named the youth fellowship program Extreme Illumination. It has been and will be a big challenge to start this youth group from nothing but I know that God is calling me to do this and it will be a great learning experience. I have already made a lot of contacts and have scheduled our first several events. Tonight we went to one of the local football games and I gave out lots of information about the new youth program. It was awesome to get a chance to talk to people. I know that we gave out 200 youth fliers and would have given out more if I had thought ahead and brought more. I am going to another game in a couple of weeks and will be able to give more out then. We also gave out other information about the church and gave out those little glow sticks which was very appropriate given our church's name.

Well, thats all for tonight. It is late and I am tired. God Bless and goodnight.
