Well, I am doing really well at work lately. I have now officially made it through dispatch training and I got my promotion to PSC II. I am switching to a new schedule on first shift next week for the first part of my probationary period. Then I will be going to third shift. However, I may not have to do any of that if I get the position I applied for in the police information center. I loved PIC when I was training in there for my first 2 weeks of training so much that I decided to apply for 1 of the 3 openings that were just conveniently opened right when I got out of training. Seems like it is working out this way for a reason. But maybe it's just to teach me I don't always get everything I want. I dunno but at any rate I will know whether I got the position or not within the next few days. They are going to have a meeting on Friday (today) to rank all of the applicants and decide who will get the 3 positions. From my understanding there are at least 8 applicants and I am among the least in seniority so there is a good chance that I will not get it but it never hurts to apply. They are ranking us on other factors such as time and attendance, previous experience, and commendations. I know that my previous trainer from PIC said good things about me and I attached all of that documentation to my application.Anyway, there is other recent good news but I can't tell ya on here because it might spoil a surprise for someone if they happen to read this. I love surprising people! Only good surprises of course!
