Back to work!

Well, my weekend is over and I have to go back to work today. It's not too bad though since I did get a lot of stuff done this weekend and I also got to play at an awesome Easter morning church service. I always love to play with that particular group of people and I especiall love playing for God. In addition to that I also bought that new furniture that I mentioned in my last post. Last night my Dad came over and helped me to assemble the desk. I didn't want to do that one by myself. I got it finished and I definately like it more than my old one. The best part about it is that I don't have to put one of my monitors on a stand beside the desk. They actually both fit in the monitor area of the desk with plenty of room to spare. I' m not sure how I am going to situate the rest of it but I guess I will get to that once I get the computer fixed and some more stuff put away. Overall I am at least getting there though. Maybe another week or so and I will have this place looking good. I have some other furniture coming in in a week or two so I will have to get some of this stuff out of here before then. Anyway, so I bought a new antenna for my tv since I am not subscribing to cable and it didn't work like I want it to so I am thinking about trying a few other indoor antennas and if they don't work then I just might have to get an outdoor antenna and just hook it up in the closet. I am pretty sure that will do the trick. The only thing with that is I would have to run a cable on the outside of the wall and that of course never looks good. But it wouldn't be too bad I guess. Well, I am going to go back to the store now and take the first antenna back and try to get a different one. From what I understand these things are kinda hit and miss and sometimes ya just gotta mess with them till ya get a good one that works at your particular location. Well, I think I have rambled enough for today and in all one paragraph I might add. Laterz

Furniture!!

My new apartment is a mess. With very good reason though. Along with the new apt I have gotten new furniture. The only problem is it is the cheap some assembly required furniture and some assembly usually means a lot of assembly. It took me 2 or 3 hours last night just to put the entertainment center together. I've gotta hand it to myself though it came out very sturdy and looks good. I had no problems assembling it. It just took a really long time to do. The desk that I got looks like it is twice as hard to assemble. I took it all out of the package and then decided I didn't want to work on it till later. The instructions strongly suggest that two people put it together. Anyway so all of my stuff is all over the living room because I can't put all of my stuff away until the bookcase and the rest of the furniture is put together. Half of the stuff is electronics and books which is why I can't put it away yet. Once all of it is put away I can take all of the tubs and containers back to my parents house so that I can actually have some space in my living room.

I got a new pet!!

I got a new pet! Well, actually I have had him for a few weeks now but because of moving and everything else I haven't really mentioned him in any of my posts. It's not a dog or a cat either. I definately have a unique pet though more and more people are getting them as pets these days. I got a sugar glider. Whats a sugar glider?? Well, I'm glad you asked. A sugar glider is kinda like a flying squirrel. Due to the unique way that God designed them, they are able to glide on a pocket of air which is very useful when jumping from tree to tree in the wild. They don't fly but they umm...well, I guess you could say they fall with style. They fall with style just like Buzz Lightyear :-). And thats why I named him Buzz! He's a cute little critter and they are very social animals. I don't have any pictures of him yet but I do have a real funny picture I found of one and I think it suits him well.

Woohoo! I finally got moved in to my new apt! Well for the most part anyway. I have to go get another load of my stuff tomorrow and will probly move little stuff for the next week or so but most of my big stuff is here. Not that I have that much big stuff but I am definately glad to be sleeping on my new bed. It is very very comfy, especially compared to the futon that I was sleeping on. It has now become my couch until I can find something better or afford something. The first thing I gotta buy tho is a new desk because I spend a lot of time at my desk and I am definately not going to use the one that I was using anymore because I never did like that one but that is all I had the space for before. Hows that for a run-on sentence? Anywayz, yay for me, no more living with my parents. Oh! and I got a new pet too! Bet you can't guess what it is......well, ya won't have to cuz I'm posting it in my next post....right now....or in a minute....or two....or three.....don't get impatient now.......

Look Ma! No Wires!

I love technology. I got my first laptop that actually works and I love it! The best part about it is that I can work on the internet from anywhere in the house without being plugged in. Makes it easy to go outside or sit in the living room or even sit in bed while watching tv and do computer work. Plus there are unlimited number of places where there are wireless hotspots that I am able to connect to the internet from. I am such a nerd, and I love my geeky toys.

So anyway, work is going ok. Sometimes it can be really really stressful and other times it seems like it is real easy. But overall I really can't complain I have a good paying job for my age and can get quite a bit overtime when I want it which means if I want something I just gotta work long enough and hard enough to get it.

I am also very very blessed and fortunate to finally be able to be financially independant. I don't have to rely on my parents for everything. I am only a few days away from moving out of my parents house and into my own apartment in a nice neighborhood just on the west edge of Benbrook which borders on Fort Worth. I got a pretty good deal on the apt including a free membership to the YMCA (the one I used to work for) and a free washer and dryer rental for the 6 months of my lease. After that I am thinking about doing a rent-to-own thing or something when I renew my lease.

The only thing I can really complain about right now is that I think I am getting sick. I'm not sure if it is a cold or if it is bronchitis but I do know that I am starting to lose my voice and if I do not have a voice I cannot work because my entire job revolves around talking to people on the phone.

Another awesome thing that I am doing right now is I am learning how to skydive. Thats right! I am learning to jump out of perfectly good airplanes. My Dad actually started teaching me the student jump course this morning and I will hopefully get to do a couple of tandem jumps on Sunday if I am feeling better and the winds are not too high. Then the next time I jump it will still be with an instructor but instead of strapped to my back they will be falling with me just to make sure that I fly in a stable position and pull the chute properly. I'll keep ya posted on how that goes.

Well, thats it for my update for now. I will update again very soon to update on my skydiving ventures and to let ya know how the move is going. I am so excited about all of this. I am so excited about life and all of it's possibilities and that I can live my life to the fullest right from where I am. Being who I am, who God made me to be.

Dude! I'm Gettin A DELL!!

I can't wait to get my new laptop computer. It is coming in tomorrow and I will finally be able to get reconnected with the rest of the world. I can't stand it when I don't have a computer with internet access in my room (I know, I'm spoiled). And the best part of it is.....portability. The new laptop that I am getting is going to have a wirless NIC card in it so I will be able to access the network and the internet from anywhere in the house...that includes when I get it all set up in my new appartment. I also am going to be getting a new power supply for my desktop computer so I will be all set up and ready to go. Gotta have the computers so I can keep all the websites I manage up to date. And so I can play games...I like playing puzzle games, it keeps my mind active...instead of just entertaining it by staring blankly at a television screen. Well, enough about my new toy. Have I mentioned how awesome God is lately? Man, He just always seems to know how to take care of me, and all the hard work that I do for Him always pays off in the end even when I don't feel like it is what I should be doing at the time.

My computer died

After almost 4 years my computer has finally died on me. I think it just needs a new power supply but I haven't had to fix one of those in quite a long time. Maybe when I get a day off I will try to fix it. I have to go digging through the garage to see if I can find a power supply that will work. Hunting for it in the garage is probably harder than actually fixing it. So anyway I won't be online on any of the chat programs for a few days till I get it fixed. I will still log in and check my email on one of the other computers in the house though. I am also hopefully getting a new laptop in a few days so I will be able to use that also. Gotta figure out how I am gonna pay for it but I think I am just going to finance a Dell. Well, till next time.......
